You really aren't just handing over the keys. You need to have many hours of driving under your belt before even trying to get a license, and on top of that you need to take drivers education. By the time that is over, you really know what you are doing. Sure, parents should put restrictions on their children when they are in their first year of driving, but they should be able to drive. I may be biased because I am sixteen.

DUDE, THIS IS OUR LAST FULL WEEK OF SCHOOL! It is kind of hard to believe. I mean each day seems to go so slowly while you are sitting in the middle of a stupid class, but the year still goes by so quickly. Time is hard to understand. Regardless, I am happy school is ending. I need a break from school and people at school.
"Just Shorts" is on tonight at 9. Am I happy? Oh yes. I can finally watch "Jizz in My Pants" on the TV, as I missed the show that night and foolishly forgot to record it.
On another note, I had my first private lesson on Saturday. Despite having to wake up at seven, I really enjoyed it. In band class I never really have had the experience to expand my abilities, but with private lessons I am able to. It is really nice to be seriously playing the flute again actually using semi-challenging music. Plus, there are no freshmen present to ask stupid questions and/or be generally annoying.

THE YEAR IS ALMOST OVER. This makes me very happy, as now I can do whatever I want guilt free. Whenever I do have freetime, like in the summer, I am usually stuck in my house. My friends are hardly ever allowed to leave the house, so there aren't really many opportunities to go places.
I am glad I will no longer be a sophomore. I am tired of sophomore year. It was not a good year. As of thus far, I'm exempt from four of my exams, which is fantastic. Even more fantastic is I am exempt from 2nd period geometry, which means I end school two whole hours before everyone else!
YAY SUMMER!

I have been working my butt off the past two days to get that solo down in Stars and Stirpes. I have played to the point where I cannot play when I get home because my lips are buzzed. Corey and I are suppose to stand up during the solo, but that requires memorization that I don't have the time for. The concert is tomorrow, and I hope everything works out. I have only played with the band one time since the Festival, which was on Tuesday.
I hate pollen. It makes me unable to breathe.
That is all.

Now that there are confirmed cases of Swine Flu in my own county, I am a bit worried. The incidents seem pretty controlled at the moment, but if it begins to spread, I am going to freak out. If it gets that point, my school will probably close, and I will stay home.

I literally spent all day cleaning my room. it really wasn't that messy before (actually it was), but now it is spotless. I am so proud of myself. But, after six staight hours of cleaning, I am tired.
So good bye.

Demetri Martin is the man. So is Andy Samberg, but that is beyond the point. Last night I went to see him, and it was amazing. I really want to see him again. I think what I really like about him is that he does intelligent comedy. It really doesn't include any yelling or stupidness.
Oh yes, he is great.

I realized that I never posted an entry about New York. Well there really was nothing to say. We played at an average level. There were definitely some great parts within our performance, but unfortunately there were a number of bad parts. We definitely did not sound ready to play. We received an excellent rating in the end, and apparently received the lower score there according to Alexis.
The trip was good itself. We did not get to visit all the destinations we wanted to, but we got to go to NBC studios. The tour was sold out, so we just ran around in the store. There was not enough Andy Samberg merchandise there, but there was a good amount of House merchandise. The streets, to say the least, were very crowded. I am not to fond of crowds, but I dealt with it anyway. I saw some very famous things though! I saw the Empire State Building, the butt of the Statue of Liberty, the Naked Cowboy (who was kissing everyone), the MnM factory, and the Hard Rock Cafe. There was a lot more that I wanted to see and do that was actually ooriginally planned. I am not going to go on and on about the "complications" in planning, but the bottom line is we really didn't see as much as we could.
I went driving on the highway yesterday, and some lady gave me the finger because my Mom was making me go to slow. Darn you Mother!
That is all I have to say.

The week was kind of uneventful, except for one event. National Honor Society inductions were on Thursday. I had two sponsors which confused me. I didn't know what was going on! Now I am officially a member of the National Honor Society. Do I feel special? Yes, yes I do.
The band trip to New York is right around the corner. Meaning this Friday. I am totally stoked for the trip itself. We may even go to see ANDY SAMBERG! Well, actually, only if he is in the the studio. I hope he is. I am not stoked for performance. In fact, I am quite nervous. I thought last wednesday we made a lot of progress. I even thought that we sounded semi-good (with the exception of a few MAJOR parts). Then the recording came on. What I thought was good music turned into music with uneven breathing, sloppy runs, and awkward solos of silence. I am not even exaggerating. With one rehearsal left with the whole band, and only four rehearsals with the band minus about six members, I don't see how that much improvement can be made.
My whole entire Honors/ A.P. U.S. History class failed our test. No, we did worse than failing. We bombed it. Murdered it. In order for most of the class to get semi-passing grades, he had to curve the grade 56 points. Not four points, five, or even ten. 56. That was worse than our mid-term, when it was neccessary to add 40 points. Our tests were so bad that he didn't even look at our essays and short answers. According to his logic, that would of made things worse. I see that that logic would only be true if everyone bombed the essays. But, he didn't even bother looking at them. Just for the record, I think I did pretty well on my essay.
While on the subject of school, I think I should also mention how my biology teacher posted that I got 21/70 on a lab. That is a whole 35%. Of course, I found out that particular grade the night of the sophomore dance. I was crushed the whole night. So the whole entire week I am waiting to get back my lab, filled with red marks, and topped with a "see me" note. The big day came. He was passing back our labs. So I got my lab back, and it wasn't filled with red marks (well maybe there were a few) and there wasn't a "see me" note in sight. I actually got a 59/70 on the lab. So I told him that, and he was like "not-uh" and I was like "yes." So he changed it. How could he have mistaken 21 for 59? HOW?!
HAPPY COREY?!

The sophomore dance was on Friday. It was quite fun, but the music choice was questionable. I lack any sense of rhythm and therefore did not dance often. When I did, it probably looked like I was having a seizure or something along the lines of that. Apparently the food was good, but I didn't try any. Who ever made the cake was just plain stupid. It said "Softmore dance" on it instead of "Sophomore Dance." The baker was probably someone with a 5th grade level education.
One of the girls that hung around us brought a date who she wouldn't talk to, so I hung around and talked to him for most of the time.
The after party at Kirstie's house was different to say the least. We aborted four balloons. Four balloons who will never have a chance to live! We originally had seven balloons, but after sucking the helium out of one, and having the deflate, we decided to put the remaining four out of their misery. It started when Kirstie shoved her balloon underneath her shirt. Then she decided it was a baby...a baby that must die. So she sat down on a chair, cut the "umblical chord" of the balloon, and then stabbed the balloon with an x-acto knife while it was still in her shirt. Talk about back alley abortion.
Tomorrow I don't have school, so I am going to stay up all night watching movies.

My close friends know this, but in 7th grade I was named the best seventh grade chemist in the county! Meaning I won first place in the Anne Arundel County Science fair. I do not know how I even won it. At the school science fair Ireceived third place, and barely made it to the next level of competition. But it was a good victory, as the kids who earned first place at school earned the lowly honorable mention at county. I think I should add that everyone who did not place earned honorable mention.
I think I should also mention that I was forced to do science fair for a grade.

Things today didn't go as bad as I thought they would. Actually, they went quite well. Well, maybe not that well.
Band practice today did not go well. I was late to the rehearsal, as I was saving the life of Bubba the math fish. Corey switched my chair around with hers, as hers had Jasmine spit on it. I had to lysol it all off. ANYWAY.... The band sounds terrible at the moment. That doesn't mean the band is terrible. I think with the talent in our band we have good potential. But, really, if you listened to how we sounded today, it would resemble more of a nuclear explosion or train wreck than music to be played in a serious competition. We have about two weeks now, but that is not going to be enough. I am expecting maybe a participation award.
The girl that has been being mean to me for months apologized. I don't know if she means it. But, she said the drama will stop, and I appreciate that.
Oh and I got a new camera!
We are all also on Bubba Death Watch (BDW)
That is all.

I am still confused on how to work LiveJournal. Maybe I am just stupid? I don't really know.
There are only 3 more weeks until my band heads to New York to "compete" in a fancy festival. I am worried it will not all be put together by then. I probably don't have the right to say that, as I am not in the real band class, but what I have heard isn't great. This makes me sad. At least I will get to party all night with Corey, Alexis, and possibly Sophia. All night meaning until 11. The pool is off limits, which disappointments me. We are also no longer seeing a Broadway show or the Statue of Liberty, which I was looking forward to.
I am really not digging this whole Day Light Savings time thing. What is the point of it? Now it is just pitch black when I go to school and now I am tired. Those darn people in the 70s ruined everything!

Do be quite honest, I don't think I look like a celebrity. My uncle is celebrity priest, and perhaps I look like him. Does that count? When I was checking out at Delias one day not too long ago, the girl behind the counter was like "Oh my gosh! You look exactly like Anne Hathaway! Are you related?!" I took about 5 minutes or so explaining to her that I was not in fact related to Anne Hathaway. The people behind me got quite upset, as the line did not move.

Today I went driving in the park. I successfully did not hit any pedestrians, dogs, or bikers. There were dogs everywhere and they kept running near the car. Very dangerous conditions, indeed.
I got my dress today, too, for the sophomore dance. I am not that excited to be going, because I am afraid a certain someone is going to ruin one night. But, oh well. They will just have to get over themselves.
Now my grandparents are coming over.
